What is hydraulics?
Hydraulics is a technology that uses the displacement of fluids (typically high-grade oil) to generate, control, and transmit power. By creating pressure within a closed system, even a small amount of manual or mechanical input can produce massive output force. What is the difference between Hot and Cold Entry?

Cold Entry: Utilizes mechanical and hydraulic instruments, such as the Hydronoa Door Buster or Spreaders. It is a controlled method that prioritizes safety and stealth, making it the standard for tactical operations.
Why is Cold Entry considered better in many scenarios?
Unlike explosives, Cold Entry offers total control. An operator can pause or stop the operation at any second if the situation changes. It is far safer for use in urban environments, high-occupancy buildings, or near flammable materials. Additionally, it allows for “quiet” breaching, giving tactical units the element of surprise.
Is breaching always limited to doors?

Maintenance, Specifications, and Operational Readiness
When should I replace the hydraulic hose?
Safety is paramount. You must replace the hose if you see any signs of “kinking,” fraying, or leaking. Additionally, per European safety regulations, even a perfectly looking hose should be replaced every 7-10 years to prevent material fatigue-related bursts.
What specific oil is required for the system?
We recommend Tellus 15 hydraulic oil (or its direct equivalent). This specific viscosity ensures that the pump remains efficient and the seals stay lubricated without causing internal friction or clogging the valves.
How can I accurately check the oil level?
The oil level should sit approximately 3-4 mm below the filler cap line. To be 100% sure in the field: extend your tool (like a Door Buster) to its maximum length. If you can still build pressure at the very end of the stroke, your oil level is sufficient.
What is the correct procedure for filling the oil?
Clean the area around the oil tank cap thoroughly to prevent dust from entering. Unscrew the cap and fill the tank until the oil reaches the 3-4 mm mark below the highest line. Do not overfill, as the system needs a small air pocket for thermal expansion.
Are Hydronoa tools "Ambidextrous"?
Yes. Our door busters and spreaders are designed for both left and right-handed operators. In many models, you can simply rotate the cylinder or adjust the grip to suit the operator’s preference or the specific orientation of the door.
Can I use the equipment for maritime or underwater breaching?
Yes, but this requires a specific “Underwater Configuration.” If you plan to use the tools in maritime environments, contact us to ensure your seals and pump vents are adjusted to prevent water ingress and corrosion.
How do I clean the "Quick Couplers"?
Before connecting any tool to a pump, wipe both the male and female couplers with a clean, lint-free cloth. If sand or mud has entered the coupler, use compressed air to blow it out. Never force a connection if it feels “gritty.”
What are the different power options for the pumps?
